Our Values

A traditional name. 
Our Firm takes its name from Duntrune Castle, a 12th century stronghold that sits on the rugged Scottish coastline. It has provided shelter and sanctuary for hundreds of years.

We think – perhaps at the risk of sounding cliché - that’s exactly what a law firm should provide for its clients.  
  • Shelter, sanctuary, and valuable protection when legal issues arise. 

  • A bastion of strength and strategy to deter threats, eliminate risks, and avoid problems before they even start.  

  • And – when the need arises – a firmly-grounded base for launching offensives and counter-offensives.

Traditional values.
There are many buzzwords that lawyers like to use to describe themselves. Words like tenacious, clever, strategic, and aggressive. Those are all fine qualities; and they’re exemplified by every member of the Duntrune team.

But we also strive to exemplify something more. 

Because employment law is about people, we embrace empathy. We listen to and we genuinely care about our clients. We’re approachable and responsive. (And we even have a sense of humour.)

Despite every “lawyer joke” you’ve ever heard, our team is dedicated to practicing law with honour and integrity. At Duntrune LLP, we know that delivering vigorous advocacy and outstanding results doesn’t need to come at the expense of throwing civility out the window.

It also doesn’t need to come at unnecessary cost. We understand that legal services are expensive; and we’re committed to responsible billing practices on all of our clients’ accounts. As part of that, we keep every client updated and informed on the steps we’re taking to advance their case; we don’t recommend costly strategies without considering alternatives; and we never forget that our job is to achieve your optimal result as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible. 

But don’t call us old-fashioned.

We utilize current and robust technology to secure our systems, to stay connected, and to ensure that we’re accessible and responsive – wherever and whenever our clients may need us.

Our team didn’t come together by accident.
